6706. Philadelphia, Pa. June 9. 68-year-old man loses leg after being struck by an unidentified vehicle which fled the scene.

6707. Greenburgh, NY. June 9. 23-year-old man fatally struck by an unidentified vehicle which fled the scene.

6708. Phoenix, Ariz. June 9. Elderly woman fatally struck by a dark-colored vehicle which fled the scene.

6709. Colorado Springs, Colo. June 8. Woman critically injured when struck by an unidentified vehicle which fled the scene.

6710. Harveys Lake, Pa. June 7. 31-year-old mother and triathlete fatally struck by a vehicle which fled the scene; allegedly drunken driver later found.

SALT LAKE CITY — A Salt Lake man accused of fatally running over the mother of his children after a domestic dispute was charged Monday, and court documents say the victim was thrown 100 feet by the force of the collision.

Anthony Robert Vigil, 29, is charged in 3rd District Court with first-degree felony murder for allegedly hitting girlfriend Aurianna Mains with his car after a domestic dispute on May 21

Mains, 24, died from her injuries, including a broken pelvis and two broken legs, investigators say, on June 1.

An Austin police officer was suspended for 90 days, narrowly avoiding being fired, after police records show he hit a woman’s car and left the scene.

Miami Police on Monday released surveillance video of a hit-and-run crash last month that claimed the life a former Cuban political prisoner.

The surveillance video, taken from Sedano’s supermarket at 6709 West Flagler Street in Flagami, shows Onofre Perez, 79, walking on the sidewalk along West Flagler on May 27 around 12:45 p.m.

As he crosses Northwest 67th Avenue, a pickup truck making a right turn onto Flagler smacks into him, sending him into the middle of the street.

“We know the truck hit him and never stopped to look back,” said Miami Police Spokeswoman Frederica Burden.

A Las Vegas man already accused of driving under the influence will face additional charges after investigators connected him to a fatal hit-and-run that left a bicyclist dead.

Metro Police said Zoltan Istvan Pentek is responsible for the death of 67-year-old Larry Martinez.

A Jefferson Park man has been charged in a 2013 hit-and-run accident that killed an 83-year-old man in the West Rogers Park neighborhood.

Rasheed Mujkovic, 22, of the 5600 block of West Goodman Street, was charged with leaving the scene of an accident causing injury or death, police said. The charges stem from an Aug. 20, 2013, accident in which Norman Esho was struck while crossing a street near his family’s video store on the North Side.(H/T @GingerKiller)

FOXBORO, Mass. (WPRI) — Massachusetts State Police said they are continuing to investigate an incident involving the car of former Patriots linebacker Brandon Spikes.

A car registered to Spikes was found abandoned on the highway in Foxboro with front-end damage. The Mercedes’ roadside assistance service told authorities the driver had reported hitting a deer.

Shortly after Spikes’ Mercedes Maybach was discovered, authorities were called to a nearby hit-and-run accident. The driver of a Nissan Murano reported being rear-ended by an unidentified car. Three people in the vehicle, including a 12-year-old boy, were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

PENNSVILLE TWP. — Hit-and-run victim Kyle Pszenny is showing new signs of improvement, his mother said Tuesday on a new blog established to update the community on the Pennsville Memorial High School athlete’s condition.

“The (doctors) are pleased with his progression yet still realistic, Pszenny’s mother, Crystal Parks wrote in a message published Tuesday morning on the Caring Bridge site.

“They do remind us he has a significant brain injury and the swelling can still peak for the next 48 hours. Please keep Kyle in prayer! He is fighting and has won the day for 2 days now. Winning the day today! He’s got this! Thank you for all the support!”

Parks established the Caring Bridge blog to post updates on Pszenny’s condition, according to a message on the Pennsville Memorial High School Athletics Facebook page.

Pszenny remains in Christiana Medical Center, Newark, Delaware. He was struck around 1:50 a.m. Sunday on North Hook Road as he skateboarded along the road.

The driver charged with hitting him, Zachary D. McDonough, 23, of Pennsville, surrendered to authorities on Monday not long after police found the car McDonough was allegedly driving the night of the accident.
