Durham, N.C. — It’s painful for Karla Razo to think about her uncle’s last moments alive.

Isidro Razo, 49, was riding his bicycle westbound on Angier Avenue when he was struck by a vehicle early Sunday. His body was found hours later by passers-by.

“I can’t imagine how long he was laying there maybe bleeding to death,” Karla Razo said.

Police are still searching for the driver, and a video released by Rhodes Auto Repair may help.

Some days, Tiffany Green struggles to get out of bed. It’s been more than five years since her eleven-year-old daughter, Alana Williams, was killed on the streets of East Oakland, but at times, the grief feels just as heavy as it did on the day she lost her child.

“It doesn’t get better. It just gets harder and harder,” said Green, 32, in a recent interview. “I sit and wonder how she would be turning sixteen.”

Just after 8 a.m. on October 16, 2009, Alana, a sixth-grade student, got off an AC Transit bus on 64th Avenue and Foothill Boulevard on her way to Frick Middle School.

After she took a few steps into the crosswalk, a black vehicle crashed into the young girl, according to the Oakland Police Department’s official report. Police wrote that Alana was pinned under the vehicle, and that the driver, in an attempt to flee the scene, ran over her a second time.

By the time Green arrived at Highland Hospital, it was too late. Her daughter was already dead.

COLUMBIA, SC (WACH) – The Columbia Police are still looking for answers in a 2012 hit and run accident that left a cardiac nurse seriously injured.

Columbia Police Chief Skip Holbrook says a $25,000 award is being offered for any answers leading to an arrest.

The accident took place September 16, 2012 as Lindsay Bires was standing on the sidewalk on Medical Park Drive.

Witnesses have stated that a white car ran off the road twice before striking Bires. The driver did not stop or render aid.

Witnesses gave aid to Bires as medical personnel arrived.

To this day, Bires still goes through intense physical and speech therapy on her road to recovery.

“Whoever did this does not to deserve to be on the street to this to another person and family. Please help our family have some sense of justice in this horrible crime and turn in the person who drove that white car into Lindsay and left her barely breathing,” said Susan Bires, Lindsay’s mother.

Columbia Police is urging anyone with any information, no matter how small, to call CrimeStoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC.

Rufus Henry Overbay Jr. was supposed to turn 43 on Tuesday.

Unlike previous birthday celebrations for the man affectionately called “Rudy,” Tuesday’s involved family and friends gathered along a small swath of sidewalk along East State Boulevard, near Kentucky Avenue, as the afternoon slowly faded into evening.

They wore T-shirts with Overbay’s picture on them and pointed to the street, right across from the Acme Tavern, showing where a woman just happened to drive by to find him laying at about 12:40 a.m. on Dec. 16.

“It’s somewhere right here,” his sister Tonya Morgan said, motioning at the asphalt.

Sometime before the woman who found him came by, someone else in a car struck Overbay. That person left the scene, leaving not only a badly injured man – still alive – but also debris from a headlight assembly.

Medics rushed Overbay to a hospital, but he died from blunt force trauma nine minutes after arriving.

Shortly after his death, Fort Wayne police released a grainy surveillance video taken from Acme that shows a sedan – dark in color, possibly red or maroon – in the area at the exact time someone struck Overbay.

But in the months since, there hasn’t been much else.

“Nobody has come forward,” Morgan said.
