11745. A Portland woman died after she was hit by multiple vehicles when she got out of her car on Interstate 84 in Northeast Portland, police said Monday.
11746. Police found Risper “unconscious and unresponsive, with severe head and body trauma,” McRorie said. She was taken to Coney Island Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
11747. Over the past week, there have been at least four hit-and-runs in the San Antonio area, and police say these types of crashes are harder to investigate with less evidence and fewer witnesses.
11748. The pedestrian fatally struck by a vehicle on a Santa Monica street in an apparent hit-and-run and then hit by a second vehicle while in the street, was homeless. Paul Sigler was 58-years-old, according to the coroner’s office.
11749. A woman accused of fatally striking a 74-year-old man in Manassas, Virginia, and then fleeing the scene allegedly prevented the victim from calling for help right after the crash, police said in an update Wednesday. She now faces homicide charges.
11750. A driver accused of killing a woman in a hit-and-run collision as she crossed the road with her two elementary school-aged grandchildren has been charged, according to Georgia authorities.
11751. “My message to the driver and the people who might be harboring the driver is to look at me. I’m not, you know, I’m not rich. I’m not wealthy. I’m not important — except I am important. I’m a human being. And Lauren — she wasn’t a model. She wasn’t Insta famous. She was a person, and you took a good person and you need to be accountable,” she said.
11752. The Florence (S.C.) Police Dept. is looking for information about a deadly hit and run that happened on Dixie and Bunch Street Wednesday around 9 p.m., according to a release from the department.
11753. Police Chief Thomas W. Fowler said that Rebecca Bartczak, 39, of Amesbury, was on her bicycle and was hit by a passing pick-up truck carrying a small camper. Bartczak was pronounced dead at the scene.
11754. There, first responders found an unconscious cyclist and began CPR. Medics pronounced the male deceased at the scene.
11755. A woman who police say was responsible for a hit-and-run crash was shot and killed in a confrontation on the road in Orange City, according to a news release.
11756. A Houston police officer has been hospitalized after she was dragged and run over while helping a woman at a police station.
11757. “We just want to find out who did it, so we can put this to a close and lay him to rest with dignity,” Jordan’s aunt Kim Cantrell said. “It’s like I’ve lost a child. I’ve literally lost one of my children.”
11758. “He didn’t know it was Chris,” the fiancée said. “He was calling Chris’ phone, so the ambulance answered Chris’ phone.”
