Hit-and-Run America, Vol. DCCCXIII

An ongoing collection of unsolved hit-and-run cases, with a focus on car/pedestrian incidents, from across the country since Jan. ‘010. If you know something about any of these incidents, or one that I’ve missed, do the right thing and call the police, even anonymously. 11202. “She was a very lovable person, crazy outgoing, she loved her kids and her grandkids,” said Cheryl Strantz, Alison’s sister.

11203. Allentown police have filed charges against a Bethlehem man accused in a fatal hit-and-run crash that killed a 46-year-old man in October.

11208. A Maryland man was arrested Sunday in connection with a Saturday hit-and-run in Fauquier County that resulted in the death of a 2-year-old child.

11209. Police found the 85-year-old victim on the ground with multiple injuries. He died despite life-saving efforts by paramedics.

11210. Police are searching for a hit-and-run driver who stole a pickup which he drove into a bicyclist, killing him Saturday in downtown Los Angeles.

11211. A Philadelphia man has been charged in a hit-and-run accident in Runnemede earlier this month that killed a 61-year-old Somerdale resident, officials in Camden County said.

11212. “He had a lifestyle that wasn’t necessarily mainstream,” Parizek said. “He chose not to have a phone. He preferred face-to-face visits with his family over texting and FaceTime. When COVID stripped that from us, contact faded. And with family out of town, his absence wasn’t noticed right away.”

11213. MILPITAS — A woman driving a stolen SUV linked to an armed robbery was fleeing officers when she hit and killed a 7-year-old boy riding a bicycle Monday afternoon, police said.

11214. “I personally do not believe there is any way that someone did not know they hit someone,” said Miami Beach Police spokesperson Ernesto Rodriguez.

11215. Police say the 70-year-old man was attempting to cross the street when he was struck by a silver or grey, sport utility vehicle. The vehicle fled the scene before police arrived.

11216. A Banning woman has been arrested and charged with murder, more than a year after authorities say she drove away from a collision with a skateboarder, leaving him to die in the street.

11217. PORTLAND, Ore. — A driver who police say hit and killed one person and left five others injured during a series of hit-and-runs in Southeast Portland Monday afternoon was taken into custody thanks to the help of a group of neighbors.

11218. “They have to catch the person who did this and they have to be held accountable … for leaving him for dead,” said Rick Riley, a friend of Benjamin’s who helped look after him.

11219. Authorities are seeking information related to a hit-and-run that claimed the life of a Camden City man last night. According to the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office, the incident occurred in the 2600 block of Mt. Ephraim Avenue in Camden City shortly before 10 p.m. January 27.

11220. “He was definitely one of the funniest people I’ve ever met,” said DeStefano’s nephew and godson, Frank DeStefano, 31, of Port Jefferson Station. “Even if it was at his own expense, he would make fun of himself, to make someone else laugh.”

11221. “We really can’t move any further until the person on the bicycle contacts Philadelphia Police and gives us a call to make a report. It’s never a good idea to leave the scene of any kind of crash that you might be involved in. You should always call the police department and make the report,” Overwise said.

11222. GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) – Gainesville Police Department (GPD) officers said they are one step closer to finding the hit and run driver who killed 18-year-old University of Florida student Maggie Paxton last year.
