Hit-and-Run America, Vol. CMXLII

An ongoing collection of unsolved hit-and-run cases, with a focus on car/pedestrian incidents, from across the country since Jan. ‘010. If you know something about any of these incidents, or one that I’ve missed, do the right thing and call the police, even anonymously. 13338. Police are searching for the driver who they say struck and killed a man in Yonkers.

13339. The Colorado Springs Police Department is investigating after a vehicle hit a pedestrian and left the scene Friday night, June 23.

13340. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department is asking for the public’s help in locating a person of interest and a vehicle involved in a Wednesday night hit-and-run crash.

13341. The Austin Police Department is looking for a suspect after a hit and run sent the victim to the hospital.

13342. Crime Stoppers of El Paso search for a driver that killed 26-year-old, Richard Dimas, more than a year ago in a hit-and-run on the west side of El Paso.

13343. A Myrtle Beach man has been arrested in connection with a fatal May hit-and-run that left a former high school football player dead, authorities said Sunday.

13344. According to WFPD, Sgt. Charlie Eipper, 20-year-old James Whitmer, of Wichita Falls, was killed after he was run over in the 6300 block of Southwest Parkway near Allendale Road. Around 4:30 a.m., police responded to the scene after a passerby called police to report a pedestrian hit by a vehicle. Officers found Whitmer dead on the side of the road.

13345. A man is dead after being struck by two separate hit-and-run drivers while riding his bicycle in north Phoenix, the city police department said.

13346. “She was very loved,” said Yanes. “From our family, our church, our neighbors. There have been so many people at our house. I know she was very loved. There is still time to talk to the cops. I know, probably if you have a heart, if you have the decency, talk to the cops. Accidents happen. On my part, I forgive the person who did it, but it’s very hard.”

13347. Police were asking the public for help Saturday finding a hit-and-run driver who struck an 82-year-old woman in a motorized wheelchair in Hillcrest, leaving her with a broken leg.

13348. Wichita Falls Police were called to the area of Southwest Parkway and Allendale Road at 4:25 a.m. and found James Whitmer, 20, lying on the north shoulder of the 6300 block of Southwest Pkwy. Whitmer was dead at the scene.

13349. SAN ANTONIO – Police need your help finding a hit-and-run driver who seriously injured a bicyclist.

13350. The Hattiesburg Police Department responded to the intersection of Main Street and Front Street Saturday after a report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle. When officers arrived, they found a male’s body. Police said the vehicle that hit the person left the scene.  The victim was identified by Forrest County Coroner Lisa Klem as Vitaly Drake, 26, of Hattiesburg.
