Hit-and-Run America, Vol. CMXCV

An ongoing collection of unsolved hit-and-run cases, with a focus on car/pedestrian incidents, from across the country since Jan. ‘010. If you know something about any of these incidents, or one that I’ve missed, do the right thing and call the police, even anonymously. 14160. Chicago police are seeking the public’s help in their search for the driver involved in a fatal hit-and-run in the city’s Roseland neighborhood.

14161. Louisville Metro Police is looking for a vehicle that was involved in a deadly hit-and-run that happened on Lexington Road in Louisville’s Irish Hill neighborhood.

14162. HOPEWELL TOWNSHIP, Pa. (WHTM) — Police in York County are attempting to identify a vehicle involved in a hit-and-run crash on Thursday, January 18.

14163. A 12-year-old girl was critically injured when she was hit by a car Wednesday night while running away from another car crash in southwest suburban Plainfield.

14164. GROTON — Police are investigating a hit-and-run crash on Benham Avenue Thursday morning that injured a pedestrian, officials said.

14165. DENVER — Police are looking for the driver responsible for a hit-and-run crash that seriously injured a man and killed his two dogs as they walked near a Denver intersection. Denver Police said they’ve been looking for the driver since the crash on Dec. 30. Joseph Gonzales was walking by Florida and Xavier with his dogs, Cupcake and Cutie Pie.

14166. HELLS KITCHEN, Manhattan (WABC) — Police are investigating after a mother and her two children were injured in a hit-and-run in Manhattan.

14167. The Los Angeles Police Department is looking for a white sedan that fatally struck a pedestrian in North Hollywood on Thursday, Jan. 18, police said.

14168. CALIFORNIA, USA — California law enforcement responds to the most hit-and-run crashes in the country, according to new data from the National Highway Safety Administration. It’s a crime trend on the rise. In 2020, the California Office of Public Safety reported 963 hit-and-run deaths in Sacramento, compared to 928 in 2017. This week alone, two people died from these incidents in Sacramento.
