Hit-and-Run America, Vol. CMVIII

An ongoing collection of unsolved hit-and-run cases, with a focus on car/pedestrian incidents, from across the country since Jan. ‘010. If you know something about any of these incidents, or one that I’ve missed, do the right thing and call the police, even anonymously. 12779.  Philadelphia police have identified a suspect in this week’s hit-and-run crash that left a trail of destruction in Mantua and a 78-year-old woman dead. Police say an arrest warrant for murder has been issued for 18-year-old Jovan Lowe of the 1900 block of North 33rd Street.

12781. FORT COLLINS, Colo. (KDVR) – A man was hospitalized after being involved in a pedestrian-involved hit-and-run early Sunday morning and now police are asking the public for help locating the person responsible.

12782. Police issued a picture of a white SUV which plowed into two men – killing a 63-year-old man and leaving another seriously hurt Thursday on the South Side.

12783. MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – Memphis police department is investigating a hit-and-run that has left one man dead on Saturday night, according to police.

12784. Crime Stoppers of El Paso and EPPD are asking for help in identifying the driver who was involved in a fatal hit and run, killing a 24-year-old man a year and a half ago in Northeast El Paso.

12785. The initial investigation revealed that earlier in the night, Williams was riding a bicycle in the southbound lane of U.S. Hwy 165. At the same time, an unknown southbound vehicle approached Williams from behind and struck him. After the crash, the unknown vehicle fled the scene. Williams suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased on the scene by the Ouachita Parish Coroner’s Office.

12786. ST. LOUIS — One person is dead and another injured after a hit-and-run crash early New Year’s Day.

12787. A man was struck by a car that sped off during an alleged hit-and-run accident in Queens on Sunday night, cops said. The 65-year-old man was crossing Merrick Boulevard near 233rd Street in Laurelton just before 7 p.m. when the driver of a dark-colored sedan barreled into him, according to police.

12788. “A terrible crash like this is horrific enough, but to flee the scene and leave a person in the road like trash is unforgivable,” Sheriff Michael Bouchard said. “We need the public’s help finding this person.”

12789. A woman was killed in a hit-and-run in Memphis on New Year’s Eve, police said.

12790. A 17-year-old boy was critically injured when he was struck by a car as he was lying on a Waikele road early this morning.

12791.  “The Long Beach Fire Department responded to the scene, lifted and stabilized the vehicle, and determined the pedestrian trapped underneath the vehicle was deceased,” police said.
