bilde An ongoing collection of unsolved hit-and-run cases, with a focus on car/pedestrian incidents, from across the country since Jan. ‘010. If you know something about any of these incidents, or one that I’ve missed, do the right thing and call the police, even anonymously.

1241. New Haven, Ct. Jan. 15. 14-year-old boy riding his bicycle struck and killed by a black four door vehicle which left him to die in the street.

1242. Annapolis, Md. Jan. 14. 42-year-old woman injured after she was struck by a sport utility vehicle that didn’t stop.

1243. Millcreek Twp., Pa. Jan. 15. Woman hospitalized after being struck by a large, dark-colored SUV with a missing passenger-side mirror that fled the scene.

1244. Glen Burnie, Md. Jan. 14. Woman injured after being struck by SUV which fled.

1245. Dallas, Texas. Jan. 16. 31-year-old struck and killed by a car that jumped the curb but was found a mile away after fleeing.

1246. Charlotte, NC. Jan. 15. 55-year-old man struck and killed by a black or dark-colored vehicle which fled the scene.

1247. Murfreesboro Pike, Tenn. Jan. 15. 45-year-old man struck and killed by a speeding pickup which didn’t slow down after impact. “An officer followed a trail of the vehicle’s fluid to a nearby apartment complex and found a badly damaged 1996 Chevrolet Silverado.” Driver not yet caught.

1248. Wausau, Wisc. Jan. 16. 21-year-old woman’s foot run over by a dark-colored sport utility vehicle — possibly a Chevrolet Tahoe — that didn’t stop.

13852743_BG1 1249. Sour Lake, Texas. Jan. 16. 30-year-old woman and her 10-month-old son killed when a driver in a pickup truck, traveling west crossed over into her lane, struck her SUV and took off. Warrant issued.

1250. Adelphi, Md. Jan. 15. Man in his 30s struck and killed by an unidentified car which fled.

1251. Philadelphia. Jan. 17. 25-year-old man killed when struck by two vehicles that didn’t stop to help him. “Two other pedestrians who saw the accident ran to the man’s aid, but then had to sprint to the sidewalk when another car came down the street and also struck the man. Police are trying to get descriptions of the two hit-and-run vehicles from the two pedestrians.” If you know who the drivers were, please call police.

TROTWOOD, Ohio (WDTN) – The mother of a hit and run victim wants the person responsible behind bars.
“Only a heartless person would leave my son in the street like that,” Lakeeta Bomar said.
According to Trotwood Police, someone driving a silver Grand Prix with a black stripe struck 11-year-old Tycius Williams and then took off.

OAKLAND — A man was struck and killed by a vehicle when he sprinted on foot across Interstate 880 early Saturday morning after crashing his vehicle into the center divider.

“Somebody just ran into him, and didn’t stop, and left. And left him there to die,” said an emotional Jessica Garcia. Alex Kirst’s niece spoke to KPSP Local 2 from her home in Florida Saturday night.
“We don’t know, if the person had even called 9-1-1 could he have been saved?” Garcia asked. “And that, instead of him being dead, he could be in a hospital somewhere. We don’t know because he wasn’t given that chance. He wasn’t given that respect.”
The body of the former drummer for the bands The Nymphs and Iggy Pop was found just before midnight near Date Palm and Gerald Ford Drive on Thursday.

The brother of the outgoing Sonoma County district attorney was the lawyer who represented a 17-year-old driver who struck and killed a Cloverdale man in a hit-and-run crash, but who was back in school after quick resolution of the case.

And I quote (V) …

The neighborhood received a new message from Laurie Gorham, the victim of the December 2010 hit-and-run who lost her unborn baby at a Stapleton crosswalk.
The Gorham family posted two signs thanking the community for support. There have also been other additions to the intersection. Road crews put a fresh coat of paint on the crosswalks and replaced stop signs with larger signs. But 7News wanted to know if those changes have impacted what drivers do when they roll up to the crosswalk and see “stop.”
Four letters spell a message even a child can comprehend, but still, “People just look at us look at the signs, they don’t care, just keep going,” said Talia Dingman.

An Austin woman who police say seriously injured a bicyclist in a hit-and-run crash off Interstate 35 on Thursday has been charged with intoxication assault and failure to stop and render aid, according to an arrest affidavit said.
Police say Lacey Marie Seljos, 23, struck the bicyclist about 12:30 a.m. while driving north on I-35 near the Williamson County line, the affidavit said. The bicyclist suffered injuries to his head and knees and was taken to a nearby hospital, the affidavit said.

Fresno – As family and friends said their final goodbyes to 50-year-old Anthony Ruvalcaba, the search is still on for two men who caused the crash that killed him.
