1925. Houston. Oct. 3. Man killed by a pickup truck which fled the scene.
1926. Selden, NY. Oct. 3. 58-year-old man struck and killed by a dark-colored SUV which fled.
1927. Union Co., NC. Oct. 3. 51-year-old man struck and killed by an unidentified vehicle which fled but left pieces behind.
1928. Stockton, Cal. Oct. 3. 3-year-old child was struck and killed; she “apparently was the innocent victim of two women’s altercation. One aimed her car at the other woman and hit the toddler instead, pinning the child against the wall of the market before driving off.” UPDATE WITH SCUMBAG KILLER’S IDENTIFICATION
1929. Anchorage, Alaska. Oct. 4. 25-year-old woman killed when struck by a light-colored Jeep Grand Cherokee built between 2002 and 2005 — likely with a damaged front end and left headlight.
1930. Kansas City, Mo. Oct. 4. 71-year-old woman struck and killed by a four-door dark-grey sedan; “the impact knocked the victim out of her shoes and wig and onto the hood of the car, where she remained as the car traveled 300 feet, police said. She then fell off.”
1931. Huntsville, Ala. Oct. 3. 14-year-old on bicycle suffers minor injuries after being struck by an unidentified vehicle.
1932. Norwalk, Ct. Oct. 5. 51-year-old woman struck and killed by an unidentified vehicle which fled the scene.
1933. Dover, NH. Oct. 3. 12-year-old boy injured and when, while biking with friends, he was struck by a “dark-colored vehicle, possibly a station wagon [which] may have had one, if not two white-colored bumper stickers on the back.”
1934. Opelousas, La. Oct. 4. 37-year-old man struck and killed by an unidentified vehicle which fled the scene.
1935. Lakewood, NJ. Oct. 5. Teenage girl attempting to catch a bus injured when struck by a dark-black four-door sedan which fled.
1936. Riverside, Cal. Oct. 3. 18-year-old woman walking with her fiancé struck and killed by a four-door sedan that fled.

Tracy Rogers would like justice for her son while she is around to see it. Her son, Vance Lee Rogers, was killed in a hit-and-run two years ago. Tracy Rogers, 79, is offering $2,500 for any information leading to an arrest and conviction. “I would like to see justice before God calls me,” she said.

The 30-year old Florida man convicted in the 2010 hit-and-run death of Navy Lt. Robert Huish, of Merrillville, received an eight-year prison sentence Monday in Jacksonville, Fla.

Authorities believe a woman whose remains were found this morning along Northeast 82nd Avenue near Portland International Airport was the victim of a hit-and-run. Shortly after 6:20 a.m., an airport shuttle van spotted the body in the roadway 15 feet north of the crosswalk near the intersection of 82nd and Alderwood Road.
Portland Police traffic Lt. Eric Schober said preliminary investigation determined the woman, wearing dark clothing and carrying a dark purse, was hit by a large semi-truck with a high canopy. She appeared to have walked from the MAX station at Cascade Station.

A 44-year-old Clinton man was pulled from his bed late Sunday morning, Oct. 2, by police who charged him with hit-and-run and drunken driving.

The man hit by a car along Highway 75 on Tuesday is in fair condition at the Nebraska Medical Center. Now, the woman accused in that crash says she wasn’t aware she hit a person. Police traced 32-year-old Shantelle Phillips to her house shortly after the crash. She has since been in jail trying to piece together what happened as she headed home. “I was just in a rush. I didn’t mean to hurt anyone,” Phillips said.

A woman who allegedly struck and dragged a bicyclist in May, then ran over the bicyclist, was charged Wednesday with three felonies but is believed to have fled the country.

FORT LAUDERDALE (CBS4) – The South Florida teen charged in the death of a man who was hit while mowing a family member’s lawn went to court Wednesday to change his plea. Daniel Ferguson, now 18, plead not guilty.
Investigators say Ferguson is responsible for the death of 67-year-old Ronald Newel who was struck and killed by a car while mowing his sister’s lawn at 3611 NW 9th Court in May of 2010. Ferguson, 17 at the time of the hit and run, allegedly left the scene.
