An ongoing collection of unsolved hit-and-run cases, with a focus on car/pedestrian incidents, from across the country since Jan. ‘010. If you know something about any of these incidents, or one that I’ve missed, do the right thing and call the police, even anonymously.

2546. Atlanta, Ga. May 16. 9-year-old boy hurt when struck by a gray Dodge Avenger which fled the scene.

2547. Sherwood, Md. May 17. 51-year-old man injured when struck by an unidentified vehicle which fled the scene.

2548. Milwaukee, Wisc. May 17. 29-year-old bike cop injured when struck by a vehicle, which police have identified, which fled the scene.

2549. Morris Run, Pa. May 15. 34-year-old woman injured when hit by a 2001 Dodge Caravan which fled the scene.

2550. Utica, NY. May 18. Pedestrian suffers minor injuries when possibly a black Honda, that is modified for street racing, which fled the scene.

2551. St. Paul, Minn. May 19. Boys celebrating 4th birthday injured when struck by a royal blue sports bike which took off.

2552. Montgomery, Ala. May 19. 3-year-old boy struck and killed by an SUV which fled the scene.

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — Providence Police are seeking the public’s help in tracking down a suspect in a hit-and-run last month. Police released surveillance camera pictures of an all-white Mini Cooper which they say struck a pedestrian on Thayer Street April 23 at about 8:18 a. m.

And I quote (II)…

Two suspects have been arrested in connection with an Anaheim hit-and-run accident earlier this year that killed a 3-year-old girl and left her mother hospitalized.

Carlos Parra, 20, and Rebecca Beltran, 24, both from Santa Ana, were arrested Monday, KTLA-TV reported. Parra was booked into the Orange County Jail on suspicion of felony hit-and-run and Beltran as an accessory to a felony.

And I quote (III)…

BULLITT COUNTY, KY (WAVE) – The search continues for the driver wanted in connection to a hit and run accident that injured a mother and her two children.

And I quote (IV)…

BOURNE – A junior at Mass. Maritime Academy appeared in court on Friday after his alleged involvement in a drunken hit and run.

Max Yerger pleaded not guilty to six charges. The 21-year-old is accused of driving drunk and hitting three people before taking off from the scene.

Court documents allege that Yerger was hanging out at the Port O’Call bar with several other students. Students say they went to the bar that is less than a mile away from campus to celebrate the end of a grueling four day licensing test for the Coast Guard.

Witnesses tell police that Yerger was drinking heavily at the bar for four hours.

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — The young woman hit by a hit-and-run driver on Thayer Street a few weeks ago now says she’s recovering — and just wants her assailant caught.

Jessica Ross is 23, and is graduating this weekend, but also has started working in the private sector. She’d been doing a morning bagel run April 23 when the white Mini Cooper hit her crossing the street.

And I quote (VI)…

GAINESVILLE, Va. (WUSA) — Prince William County Police say on Thursday morning a man who exposed himself to a woman then fled in a car before hitting another car.

A woman reported at approximately 11:27 a.m. that she was in a parking lot in the 7900 block of Stonewall Shops Sq in Gainesville when she saw a man in a nearby vehicle exposing himself through an open car door. The woman then notified police from a store.

Meanwhile, the man, later identified as 18-year-old Kenneth Earl Emberton III, fled in the vehicle, and then struck an unoccupied vehicle. Police say there was minor damage.

And I quote (VII)…

A Santa Ana couple was charged Friday in the hit-and-run crash that killed 3-year-old Miranda Palacios and severely injured her mother.

Carlos Antonio Parra, 20, was charged with one felony count each of vehicular manslaughter by unlawful manner of driving and with gross negligence and possession of a controlled substance, according to the Orange County District Attorney’s Office. He was also charged with two felony counts of hit and run with permanent injury or death.

Parra also faces sentencing enhancements for fleeing the scene and for committing a crime while out on bail for another offense when he crashed into the mother and daughter. If convicted, he could be sentenced to 19 years in state prison, the District Attorney’s Office said.

Parra’s girlfriend Rebecca Beltran, 24, was charged with one felony count each of accessory and possession of a controlled substance. If convicted, she faces a maximum sentence of three years and eight months.

And I quote (VIII)…

Phillip Luna has been charged with driving while intoxicated as well as failure to stop and render aid.

Police say 2-year-old Diego Omar Mandujano stepped off the curb. According to witnesses, Luna was driving a pick-up truck and hit the boy. The boy’s father saw it happen, and that’s when Luna took off. A neighbor jumped into his car, chased Luna down, pulled in front of him and called 911.
